How do we understand reality? What are the tools that we use? And how specifically does literature work as a tool to understand reality?
This week we started discussing these questions by making distinctions between how we grasp reality through impressions, observations, experiences, and associations. We have also been thinking about the differences between facts and opinions, and how these differences influence us as we encounter the world.
Over the next week, this conversation will lead us into more clearly understanding the literary tools of metaphor and point of view.
